Each investment decision relating to the deployment of LCP capital is made by our investment advisory board headed by founder and CEO Gary M. Lawrence. Each strategic advisory services retention is staffed independently based on the particular circumstances and issues involved, including the complexity of the transaction and the magnitude of financial risk involved.
Gary M. Lawrence
CEO
Gary brings over 25 years of corporate finance, mergers/acquisitions and emerging technologies experience to LCP. In addition to his role at LCP, Gary also serves as CEO of our portfolio company Media Technology Ventures, LLC. Previously, Gary was a management committee partner in a major international law firm, where his responsibilities included chairing the firm’s technology transactions practice as well as serving on the firm-wide strategic planning and compensation committees. Gary has served on the board of directors and/or advisory boards of various public and privately held corporations and has over two decades of experience in media, technology, telecommunications and broadcasting. Gary is a frequent speaker and panelist at investment, technology and media industry events and is the author and co-author, respectively, of two best-selling business texts, Due Diligence In Business Transactions and Representing High Tech Companies.
Dex Allen
Director, Business Development
Dex has over 40 years of investment, transactional and operational experience across a broad spectrum of industries and sectors but especially those involving media, communications and broadcasting. In the course of his career he has invested in, owned or worked with properties in dozens of markets including Palm Springs, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Portland, San Diego and many others. Dex was the founding partner and owner of Commonwealth Broadcasting which he sold for $41,500,000, representing a 41% return to its investors. Dex serves on the Board of Directors for Finest City Broadcasting and an advisor to our portfolio company Media Technology Ventures.
H. Lance Forsdick, Sr.
Senior Advisor
Lance is a nationally recognized philanthropist, investor and businessman. During his professional career, he has founded, invested in and operated numerous corporate interests in construction, development, hospitality, real estate, property management and other sectors. Lance was a director of RFS Hotel Investors, Inc. a real estate investment trust formed in 1993 to make investments in hotel properties. He currently serves on the boards of Christian Brothers University, St. Dominic School, St. Agnes Academy, St. Peter Villa and St. Francis Hospital as well as a number of public and private corporate boards. Lance was awarded affiliate membership in the Christian Brothers in 1993 and was named Humanitarian of the Year by the National Council of Christians and Jews in 1994. In 1999, he received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross, the highest papal award given to a layman. He received an honorary doctorate from the Christian Brothers University in 2004.
Katherine L. Lawrence
Vice President, Finance and Endowment Fund Chair
Katherine has nearly twenty years of experience in asset acquisitions, investment analysis, business operations and general financial affairs. Her extensive background in administration and finance brings a unique perspective to LCP’s analysis of both direct investment and co-investment opportunities. She works closely with LCP’s investment advisory board and chairs The Lawrence Family Charitable Endowment. She currently serves as treasurer for the Highland Park Middle School and is former member of the Vestry and Stewardship Committees of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. |
